Description
Will this work?
- Campagnolo Chorus FD-01FCH, 1987–1996 vintage
- 28.6mm (1-1/8″) clamp-on, steel tube frames
- Double chainring, 6/7/8-speed compatible, 18T max capacity
- Bottom pull cable routing
- Friction operation — compatible with period Campy or any friction shifter setup
Condition: Near mint. Light scuffs to the cage plates from minimal use. Body, clamp, and hardware intact. Chrome cage retains full mirror sheen.
Notes from MyBikeThing: The Chorus was Campagnolo’s second-tier groupset in the late ’80s and early ’90s — one step below Record, and widely regarded as excellent hardware. The FD-01FCH is essentially the same derailleur as the legendary Croce D’Aune, just badged Chorus. The two-tone finish — polished chrome cage against the pewter-grey alloy body — is distinctly Italian and looks stunning on a period steel build. Near-mint condition on a 35-year-old derailleur is not common.
Workshop Wisdom: Bottom-pull routing requires a cable guide under the BB before the cable runs up to the derailleur. Most steel-era frames have a brazed-on guide — confirm yours before installing. Set cage height 1–3mm above the large chainring at full extension, dial the outer limit screw with the chain on the big ring, and fine-tune the inner limit on the small ring before riding.
Guarantee: You put in the miles, we put in the work! 30-day Guarantee, rest assured of fit, function and condition. 🙂
