This is an exciting 2-part video series filmed in the stunning landscape of Moab, Utah. Titled Muscle Breakdown – The Gran Fondo Moab Utah, the collection features Part 1 (1 hour 54 minutes) and Part 2 (1 hour 58 minutes), available as a set or individually.
What makes this collection so special is the breathtaking scenery and expert narration by myself (Paul Gallas, owner of Cycling Videos Online) and pro racer Danny Summerhill. Together, we guide you through racing and training strategies as we tackle this challenging Gran Fondo.
Part 1 starts in downtown Moab and follows Hwy 128 along the dramatic cliffs of the Colorado River, showcasing high canyon walls shaped over millions of years. The workout quickly ramps up with fast, breathless wheel sucking, rollers, and accelerations that push you to your absolute limits. The ride then climbs toward Castle Valley, and gravity becomes your biggest competition. The session ends just before the steep stuff climbs kick in.
Part 2 is an entirely new test, featuring brutal climbs up the La Sal Mountains. As the temperature cools with the rising elevation, we push to the snowline, battling steep grades while taking in jaw-dropping mountain views and encouragement from onlookers. After a breather at the summit, we finish with a thrilling descent back into Moab.
This workout is extremely tough—a true 10/10 on the difficulty scale. As part of the Muscle Breakdown series, it’s designed to annihilate muscle, build strength, and enhance power. Prepare yourself for one of the most challenging and rewarding rides!
