Description
Will this work?
- Octalink V1 interface — requires Octalink V1 bottom bracket (not square taper, not Hollowtech II)
- Compatible with 8 and 9-speed Shimano road drivetrains
- Fits standard 68mm English or Italian threaded BB shell — 107mm spindle for 68mm English
- 130mm BCD — standard road double
- Double front derailleur required — compatible with Shimano 8/9-speed road double FDs
- BB not included
- Includes crank arms, chainrings, and chainring bolts
Condition: Functional with normal use wear. Chainring teeth show miles with some wear — still rideable with life remaining. Crank arm branding faded from use, surface scratches on aluminum consistent with normal use. Splines clean and undamaged.
Notes from MyBikeThing — The FC-6500 is the 172.5mm version of Shimano’s proven 6500 Ultegra generation — cold-forged aluminum, Octalink V1 interface, made in Japan. The 53/39 on 130mm BCD is the classic road double setup, and 172.5mm is the most common arm length making this a straightforward drop-in for a wide range of riders. Solid, proven, and a natural fit for any period-correct 8 or 9-speed Shimano road build.
Workshop Wisdom — Octalink V1: torque crank fixing bolt to 35–50Nm, splines clean and dry, grease on bolt threads only. Do not confuse Octalink V1 with Octalink V2 — not interchangeable. Standard 68mm English shell takes a 107mm spindle BB-6500.
Guarantee — You put in the miles, we put in the work. 30-day guarantee on fit, function, and condition. – Paul
