The A1 aluminum main triangle snaps when you put power down \u2014 quick, direct, eager. But the real story is out back, where Specialized clearly spent money they didn&#8217;t have to. The wishbone flared seatstays aren&#8217;t just for looks; they&#8217;re carbon, and they&#8217;re <strong>bolted\u00a0<\/strong>to the frame rather than bonded \u2014 a build detail you&#8217;d expect a tier or two up. Then, on top of stays already shaped to flex and soak up the road, they added Zertz inserts that genuinely cancel out road buzz and vibration. The result is a frame that races like aluminum and rides like steel These flew under the radar when they were new and they&#8217;re flat-out undervalued now.
